We are looking for a LocumObstetricand GynaecologyConsultant to joinour team ofConsultants in Women's Health at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust, Bristol. Due to recentnational appointments, we have created a need for a locumto join ourgrowingteam and to supportour core business.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team when we are developing and expanding services offering high quality care to our women in all parts of our service.
As the hub for theSouth WestComplex Termination of Pregnancy Network and a direct NHS abortion care provider, experience in abortion care and management would be especially welcome.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will hold CCT in Obstetricsand Gynaecologyor be within 6 months of this. They may haveadditionalexperience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the department.
The postholder willbe responsible forthe clinical management of patients under their care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the post holder is absent.The postholder willbe responsible forthe professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.The postholder will berequiredto take part in a Clinical Audit Programme.

Essential
- MRCOG or equivalent
- Maintain Full registration with the GMC.
- CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have been entered on the GMC Specialist Register at the time of commencing the post.
Desirable
- Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD or MS).
Training
Essential
- Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
- Clinical training and experience in general Obstetrics equivalent to that required for UK CCT
Desirable
- Experience in routine and complex abortion care, including the provision of surgical abortion to 23+6 weeks and provision of feticide
