Working on the Gastroenterology and Endocrine ward, the successful candidate will work closely with the ward team (nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals) to ensure the patients on our ward receive the highest standard of care on the inpatient unit. The Housekeeper role is patient facing, you will be leading the meal service by helping patient's complete menus, delivering meals and hot drinks, clearing away meals and helping deliver snacks. You will be responsible for topping up supplies, ordering equipment, cleaning and maintaining clinical equipment, ensuring the ward area is clean, welcoming and tidy along with reporting faults and general admin tasks.
Main duties of the job
This role requires someone who has an interest in nutrition, can work pro-actively, and has excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure due to the role having competing demands at times. The post holder will need to be computer confident and be willing to undertake training to be self-reliant in using multiple NHS applications. They must be willing to work with the dietitians to ensure that patients meal choices and nutritional intake is appropriate for their requirements.
We are looking for somebody who can work between 23 hrs per week. Shifts are 11.5 hrs per day and will be covered on a rotational basis, covering 7.00 am - 19:30 pm and to include some weekend and bank holiday working.
