Outpatients Support Worker – Prosthetics

Job summary

If you're an experienced Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker, the prosthetics team at Bristol Centre for Enablement (BCE) are looking for a skilled, proactive individual to support our outpatient clinics.

Based in Patchway, this role offers the opportunity to work with an exceptional multidisciplinary team offering rehabilitation to individuals who have undergone amputation or have congenital limb difference. You will coordinate multiple clinics and support patients attending their appointments. Your expertise and clinical skills will be crucial in creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for our patients, whilst in return offering development of your knowledge in amputee rehabilitation.

This part time (10 hours per week) role would be ideal for those currently working as Senior Support Workers looking to undertake additional hours. With a shift pattern of Thursdays (08:30-14:30) and Fridays (08:30-12:30), you would not be required to cover weekend or night shifts, ideal for those balancing work-home or family life with work commitments.

BCE is located in Patchway, close to the Mall at Cribbs Causeway with good transport links and free nearby parking.

Please note - this role is part time, 10 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

A Senior Healthcare Support Worker (SHCSW) is a core member of the team delivering direct care to patients and supporting registered practitioners to deliver high quality, compassionate health care to people in accordance with assessed needs and a care plan.

You will carry out a range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare, or therapeutic tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner, in accordance with the Trust values.

You will support the smooth running and coordination of outpatient clinics for both patients and clinical staff, ensuring any delays are communicated promptly and the care needs of the patient are met.
