Job summary
  This is a great opportunity to join the growing and dynamic Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at North Bristol NHS Trust, and we are seeking a Junior Clinical Fellow to start ideally from February 2026. This post is initially fixed-term for 6 months.
This is a non-training post but the Clinical Fellows will get wide ranging clinical experience, supervised by consultant staff. This will include: Theatre lists, Early pregnancy clinic, Central Delivery Suite experience, Emergency Gynaecology, Out-patient clinics (general and specialist), Ante-natal clinics (general and specialist).
The post is funded by NBT for the post holder to participate in the ST1-2 rota to ensure compliance with junior doctors' hours.
  Main duties of the job
  Learning Objectives/Specialist Interests
To further develop skills in the assessment of antenatal patients, normal and abnormal labour and postnatal care.
To develop skills in instrumental and operative delivery if choses
To gain experience in gynaecology - outpatients and theatre experience
Involvement in audit and quality improvement projects

Teaching
You will not be expected to take on any formal teaching responsibility. Help with informal teaching of ward based medical students is encouraged. If you have a particular interest in teaching, we will support you within the constraints of your timetable.

  North Bristol NHS Trust is the largest Trust in the South West region, and one of the largest trusts in the country.       The department provides a full range of obstetric and gynaecological services. The maternity department is one of the largest in the country, with more than 6,000 deliveries per annum with a 15 bed Consultant led delivery suite, a co-located birth unit performing over 900 deliveries per year and a standalone birth centre at Cossham Hospital with 500 deliveries per year We have extensive maternal medicine services for specialist endocrine, epilepsy, haematology and renal clinics and run additional specialist antenatal clinics for women including substance misuse, mental health and blood borne viruses. We also have an active fetal medicine department and tertiary level 3 neonatal unit.
