Main duties of the job
Advanced Critical Care Practitioners (ACCPs) are clinical professionals that form part of the multidisciplinary team responsible for patient care during an ICU admission. They are highly experienced and educated practitioners who have developed their skills and theoretical knowledge to a very high standard. They are empowered to make high-level clinical decisions to ensure that patients receive timely, personal, and effective care. The ACCP role is a new way of working for health professionals, which crosses professional boundaries. ACCPs are developed from experienced nurses, physiotherapists, paramedics or other related health care professionals.
ACCPs are a relatively new addition to the ICU at Southmead Hospital, and we hope to continue expanding the service into the future. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our two existing qualified ACCPs. The post-holders will already be experienced clinicians with critical care experience, and possess the drive and desire to contribute to our expanding service.
