Who Should Apply?

Applicants must have full registration with the GMC. This fellowship is ideal for candidates who are within the final year of training or who are post-CCT. We would consider candidates Applicants should possess a strong foundation in critical care medicine, including FFICM qualification or equivalent and a keen interest in the care of patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical disorders.

Southmead Hospital has a 24 hour a day 7 day a week acute stroke thrombectomy service and is one of the busiest centres in Europe. It delivers some of the highest neurotrauma survival rates in the UK
  • Unique Rotations: Benefit from immersive rotations including in Interventional Neuroradiology and Neurosurgery, allowing you to gain a deep understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of neurocritical care.
  • Expert Mentorship: Train under the guidance of experienced consultants who are committed to fostering your clinical and academic development.
  • Research Opportunities: Engage in cutting-edge research and quality improvement projects, with opportunities to present your work at national and international conferences. Recent NIHR-supported research includes novel work on beta-blockade in traumatic brain injury
