Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Dietitian with knowledge of complex nutrition support in Hepatology and Gastroenterology to support inpatient and outpatient work in North Bristol NHS Trust (Southmead Hospital).
The job involves a weekly (Thursday) Consultant lead Liver clinic and working alongside the Band 7 Gastroenterology Dietitian lead to support data collection as part of a dietetic liver project.Experience of audit and quality improvement is desirable but would be of benefit to help undertake data collection.
The other part of the role includes providing dietetic cover to the busy acute inpatient gastroenterology ward, seeing patients with many clinical conditions like; IBD, gastroparesis, hematology and hepatology. There will occasionally be the need for providing support to the eating disorders patients on this ward.
We are a large teaching hospital and take students for their A, B and C placements from Plymouth University (BSc) and Birmingham City University (MSc). Experience of supporting students is essential.
We encourage and support CPD within the department and provide in house and external opportunities for training to undertake this role.

Provide dietetic cover to the gastroenterology ward - involving oral nutritional support, enteral feeding, this patient group includes IBD, hepatology and potential to cover some eating disorders work in times of AL or staff shortages.
