Job summary

Ward 28A is the Acute respiratory ward looking after a range of patients with Acute and chronic conditions. It is a fast-paced clinical environemnt with a supportive and friendly team. Previous receptionist and/or NHS experience advantageous however training will be provided to any suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job

  • To deal with external/internal enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
  • To be aware of patient confidentiality at all times
  • To carry out the filing of medical notes
  • To carry out the photocopying of case notes when required
  • To carry out the scanning of case notes when required
  • To deal with the any phone enquiries when required
  • To ensure attendance at mandatory training sessions, involvement in appraisals and personal development plans and adherence to Trust policies
  • To work under standard operating procedures (SOP'S)
  • To carry out admin work in a ward environment; including, filing, open post, updating spreadsheets with patients information, booking transport and follow up appointments.
  • Being the first friendly face visitors see when arriving on the ward.
  • Communicating with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Previousexperience of working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook isa must,CareFlowexperience will be an advantage although training will be provided.
  • Being an extremely busy department, the ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise changing workloads is absolutely essential for this role.

About us

You will be located on Gate 28A working with the respiratory team consisting of Nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals.
