Job summary
The post holder is responsible for providing administrative support, appointment booking and waiting -list management for the Medicine Division (incl. outpatient consultant-led appointments and physiology) at North Bristol Trust. They cover day to day management and resolution of clinic bookings which will require face to face and telephone contact with patients, clinicians, nurses and administrative staff. The post holder delivers a high quality administration service ensuring that patients' pathways reflect the requests of the clinical team.
Main duties of the job
- Liaise with patients, making and taking phone calls to book and change patients' appointments. Provide information to patients regarding their appointments.
- Liaise with medical, nursing, secretaries, physiologists and outpatient booking team
- Undertake all administration required for the patients' appointments including coordination of consultant and physiology appointments, confirmation of appointments, responding to queries
- Maintaining and updating the Access Plans for Outpatient appointments and patients awaiting results
- Undertake general office and clerical tasks to support the department.
- Book patients according to agreed booking rules in line with the Trust and government targets (RTT, DM01) escalating to the Support Manager with any issues.
- Cross-cover other administrative staff as required for any period of sickness and annual leave
- Support the performance of the department through daily work to optimize the utilization of clinics, reduce DNAs, and manage resources effectively.

- Book patient transport if required
- Manage clinic setups and cancellation by following standard process
- Feedback results of investigations to the appropriate clinicians through their secretaries
