Job summary

Southmead Hospital Charity is looking for a detail-oriented Database Insight Officer who has experience working with Raiser's Edge NXT CRM or other relational databases. This role will support the charity as we continue to use data to inform our business planning and will have ongoing responsibility for our database and supporting information flows for teams to improve insight management.

The post holder will also be responsible for processing all donations received by the Charity across a range of platforms, coupled with the successful monthly reconciliation between the fundraising database and the charity bank account.

This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, enjoys working with data and has experience maintaining a database. Our Data Insight Officer will work across all areas and create insight reports for all our teams, including fundraising and marketing to inform public fundraising appeals and marketing communications.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Director and Head of Operations in delivering first class data management and analysis to support the development and growth of the Charity through insight-driven decision making.

The role is responsible for data management best practice, data quality standards, data security and protection, data hygiene, data import and export, data analysis including segmentation and providing statistical models to the Charity team.

The post holder will be responsible for daily data input relating to donor information, donations and prompt batching of donations as well as regular database management to ensure high quality data is held and excellent donor stewardship is delivered through thanking of donations.

General

  • Working with the Director and Head of Operations, deliver a plan for data management, analytics and insight, to support the strategic development and growth of the Charity.
  • Support the Director and Head of Fundraising to ensure that a donor centric approach is at the core of all activity and that high standards of data are developed and maintained throughout the Charity team.
  • Ensure that all cash handling, banking, donor acknowledgement and receipts are kept in accordance with charity best practice.
  • Keep up to date on all new governance regulations issued by the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and Information Commissioners Office.
  • Process any required Gift Aid reclaims
  • Maintain and develop key relationships with stakeholders individuals and organisations.
  • To produce monthly and quarterly reports for use across the Trust and for Charity Committee members.

Database management

  • Update the Charity database daily with donor/donation information.
  • Ensure daily/weekly batches are accurate and approved in a timely manner to ensure the Charity thanks donors promptly.
  • Contribute to regular database maintenance including data cleaning and updating of information.
  • Support any CRM upgrades/changes to ensure quality data is held
  • Encourage the Charity team to effectively and proactively collect and record data, supporting them with any training required to maintain standards.
  • Ensure that our database systems and processes enable us to effectively and efficiently capture and use data, where necessary introduce systems that will enable the Charity to be trail blazers in the use of data within the fundraising and charity sector.
  • Support the continuous evaluation and management of technology across the Charity to ensure that it remains fit for purpose and that we are maximising its use.

Data analysis and insight

  • Provide accurate, detailed and regular reports to the Charity team to maximise our ability to make evidence-based decisions through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Support the Charity team with any data/report/query requests and work across the team to help identity their data and reporting requirements.
  • Analyse performance/trends and provide reports to senior leadership team.
  • Maximise our ability to deliver relational communications through effective data segmentation.
  • Support the collection of impact data and its interpretation. Identify opportunities to improve monitoring and evaluation and reporting processes across all areas of the charity, but particularly the outcomes of projects funded by the charity.
  • Proactively analyse and identify trends that can effectively shape marketing and communications, fundraising and spend activity to maximise the potential impact of the charity.
  • Support the training and development of the wider Charity team in data analysis and interpretation.

Collaboration

  • Support and deliver the activity within the staff engagement programme so that NBT staff become proactively and enthusiastically involved in the charity.
  • Proactively support the activity of the legacy fundraising programme.
  • Proactively support the activity of the grateful patients programme.

Other

  • Adhere at all times to the Charitys policies and procedures.
