Stroke Project Support Officer - Band 5

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic, busy and friendly team in Stroke as a Project Support Officer (band 5) for 22.5 hours per week for one year.

The Project Support Officer will be responsible for all aspects of the line management of the NBT Stroke administrative team and provides essential support to the Stroke team as a whole.

The post holder would assist in the operational leadership for SSNAP (Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme).

The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently, with excellent communication skills tobe able to engage and build strong relationships with both Clinical and Clerical colleagues ranging in seniority.

They would prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required and deputises for the Stroke Management team.

We are looking for an individual who pays meticulous attention to detail with great organisational skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Management of Stroke administrative and clerical staff
  • SSNAP organisational lead
  • Support complaints and PALS process
  • Identify any training or development needs and implement as necessary for administrative staff.
  • Upholding the management of all annual leave, sickness absences and performance.
  • To oversee rosters and maintain accurate records of working hours, overtime, and absences on the eRoster system (or paper records, if appropriate).
  • To support the management of doctors, nurses, ANP's and PA's.
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post, as agreed with the Performance and Operations Manager
  • To ensure all clerical and administrative staff within the department have an annual appraisal and personal development plan.
  • Co-ordinating annual leave for clerical and administrative staff in a planned and constructive manner to ensure cross cover within department.
  • To investigate and respond to departmental complaints and concerns, including lessons learned and action plans for improvement.
  • To support the management of consultant, middle grades and junior doctor's rota.
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by the Management Team, in line with the duties and responsibilities of this role.

The multi-disciplinary team is comprised of a wide range of staff from Consultants, Registrars, Junior Doctors, Physician Associates, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Therapists, Ward Staff and Support Managers.

The team works together to ensure the best possible care for our stroke patients.

The Support manager role is a newly created role that will be essential in supporting a wide range of staff and services.
