Job responsibilities

  • Our Pre op assessment unit is based in Endoscopy Southmead Hospital. There are currently clinics which run between the hours of 08.00 17.30.
  • This is a highly skilled role through assessment of patients fitness to undergo Endoscopic Procedures. A wide knowledge of clinical conditions and co-morbidities is needed in order to safely assess patients.
  • Staff work autonomously and independently using clinical judgement to make the correct decision on any action to be taken to optimise the patients health and social care.
  • Nurses in this department work with a full multi-disciplinary team including, Consultant Endoscopists, Nurse Endoscopists, Nurses, AHP's and Admin booking team on a day to day basis
  • You will manage a team of nurses.
  • Undertake senior nursing duties including managing the department
  • Deputise in the absence of the Senior Sister B7 / B6
