Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Clinical Leadership MSK outpatient team to lead the aquatic physiotherapy service.
We are looking for a physiotherapist with highly specialist physiotherapy skills and an established specialist interest in aquatic physiotherapy or an interest in developing this area of expertise. We are looking for an individual who will be committed to leading and developing the aquatic physiotherapy service.
As the aquatic physiotherapy clinical lead you will have demonstrable leadership skills and service development experience, excellent communication and time management skills to build networks to develop our existing aquatic physiotherapy service. We are looking for an excellent team player who is experienced, flexible, and has initiative to assist us in delivering high class patient centered care.
The part-time role will include working over three to four days - to include a Thursday.
We would be very happy to arrange for you to have an informal visit to see the physiotherapy outpatient department and the aquatic therapy pool.

Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the delivery of a high-quality physiotherapy service by self and others through caseload management, supervision and development of physiotherapy staff and students. Participation in operational management, modernisation and professional development of physiotherapy services.
- An autonomous physiotherapy practitioner performing an advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Takes a lead role in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of senior clinicians, junior clinicians, technical instructors and assistants, physiotherapy students (possibly including those at Masters level)
- As clinical team lead, is responsible for operational management and development of the aquatic physiotherapy service.
- Supervises, initiates and participates in evidence-based projects and is responsible for implementing changes within the aquatic physiotherapy service and setting and monitoring standards of practice
- Deputises for department lead as required
- Dissemination of information/advice from team leader or Head of Service
