This job is now closed

Job summary

NBT and UHBW have been awarded a place on this year's NHSE Cancer Improvement Collaborative (CIC) programme. The local project team is comprised of committed people from both trusts and has support from colleagues within the wider ICS. The project focuses on improving the quality of reasonable adjustment provision for people on cancer pathways within the BNSSG area. Many people with cancer are treated by both trusts which adds a level of complexity for people requiring reasonable adjustments. This may include, but is not limited to, people with a learning disability, autism, dementia, severe mental health condition, hearing impairment, physical disability, and includes individuals with experience at the intersection of multiple conditions. The team intend to facilitate focus groups with experts through experience to understand the impact on health inequalities and co-design solutions. The initial plan is for data from theses focus groups to inform the development of a Reasonable Adjustment Toolkit which will be trialled across BNSSG before being refined and rolled out further. The project team have been awarded funding for a Project Manager from the SWAG Cancer Alliance, and we need a passionate, reliable, highly organised individual to join the team and drive forward this important work. The role is a great opportunity for someone who wishes to be involved in an exciting project which will help reduce health inequalities and enhance the experience of people with cancer.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the overall management and timely implementation of the BNSSG Cancer Improvement Collaborative (CIC) projects.

They will work closely with the project team and other stakeholders to develop robust project plans and provide progression reports to the relevant project commissioners.

They will utilise outstanding communication skills and initiative to recruit and facilitate focus groups with individuals requiring reasonable adjustments, responding to the needs of each person to ensure inclusivity.

They will manage the challenges that come with change management, implementing actions as a result of project outcomes.
