Job summary
This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of performance targets, including RTT and Cancer by; keeping close scrutiny of patient tracking lists and ensuring optimum utilisation of Outpatients and Theatre capacity. The post-holder will be responsible for line managing several administrative teams and work closely with the senior management team managing clinical, nursing and AHP staff.
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and hard-working manager to support the operational delivery of these services.
The successful applicant will have experience in; performance management, managing complex processes, building and maintaining effective working relationships and providing support to team members from all professional backgrounds in order to ensure that the best service is given to our patients.
Main duties of the job
Rotas and Elective planningResponsible for maintain and co-ordinating demand against capacity for cancer patients within Urology. Supporting the rota co-ordination process including the recording of junior doctor and consultant leave.
StaffingTo be responsible for the management of all administrative and clerical staff elated to the secretarial function within the set area based in the Urology department.
Performance- Ensuring agreed policies and protocols relating to leave management are in place and utilised within the department to ensure an effective and efficient service able to treat patients according to clinical priority, Government targets, contractual requirements, timetables and surgeon and bed availability.- To monitor the capacity/demand for clinics and theatre slots and to arrange additional sessions when demand is high.- To ensure processes are in place for the early identification of problems relating to the management of the rota and leave and to escalate when appropriate.- To meet on a regular basis with the Performance and Operations Manager.
Other duties- To deal with any ad-hoc queries, concerns and complaints made by patients, both in person, on the phone and in writing including cancellations of patients.- To assist with monthly validations when required, including investigating, validating and actioning reports including TCIs in the past, outpatient cashing up and other reports.
