This role is based within the Finance Team supporting the identification and recommendation for Cost Improvement Opportunities. On a standard day the successful candidate will use benchmarking tools such as Model Hospital to see how the trust benchmarks against similar organisations. They will then use relationships to piece together the current picture for how things work, as well as reaching out to other areas to obtain evidence of different ways of working. Finally, they will compile this information to make an informed recommendation to Senior Leaders about how to progress Cost Improvement Plans (CIP).

Main duties of the job

The Finance Directorate are looking for a Business Analyst to support a dedicated team who have a focus on Cost Improvement and Financial Sustainability.
We need a strong analyst who is organised, hard-working, flexible, and enjoys a fast paced working environment. You must be passionate about delivering positive change through insight, embrace problem-solving opportunities, and take pride in high quality technical delivery.
The ideal applicant will:
- Have experience of working in partnership with technical, managerial and clinical stakeholders
- Be technically sound across a range of BI and Data technologies (including SQL, Excel, Qlik)
- Have an eye for data quality, and methods for quality improvement
- Demonstrate benefits of measuring both qualitative and quantitative data
- Understand how departmental process translates to information held in a data warehouse, and reported via BI technologies
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with clinical, financial, activity, performance and workforce data.
- Have project management experience in order to make recommendation on next steps to scheme leads
About us
This is an exciting time to join the newly established Financial Sustainability team within the finance directorate of NBT. The postholder will be able to manage their own time flexibly and we support a hybrid structure which includes office and home working (minimum 2 days in the office per week).
