North Bristol Trust/Southmead Hospital is pleased to announce that a new opportunity has arisen for a friendly and enthusiastic nurse/midwife practitioner (specialist) to become part of our Early Pregnancy Clinic within Gynaecology.
A passionate, enthusiastic, forward-thinking, hard-working, and experienced Gynaecology specialist nurse/midwife is required to fill the Band 7 Nurse Practitioner /specialist role.
We are a nurse led clinic practicing advanced skills. Our clinical assessment skills enable us to conduct in-depth patient history, assessments, diagnosis and develop clinical treatment plans for our service users.
It is our goal to provide high quality clinical care to our patients within the context of a small team of well-motivated and friendly nurses/midwives working closely with a medical team on the ward.
We have future aspirations to merge our Early Pregnancy Clinic with the Gynaecology emergency clinic in a move to same day emergency care.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be part of the provision of a specialist nursing service in Early Pregnancy delivering high quality clinical care (with an open mind to merge emergency gynaecology in the future).
- Have advanced clinical assessment skills to conduct in-depth history taking and patient assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of a high standard of clinical care.
- Support and enable patients and carers to make informed decisions relating to their treatment and management.
- Use of excellent interpersonal skills in discussing results and pregnancy loss with clients.
- Act as a specialist resource and provide specialist advice in relation to care of patients in their specialty.
- To be an autonomous practitioner and provide clinical expertise, research awareness and education for patients, carers, and NHS professionals.
- To have responsibility for the management of the clinical area whilst on duty.
- Provide a seamless, high-quality service from referral through to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and review, referring to other specialists as required.
