Job summary

We wish to appoint a Senior Microsurgical Fellow - Specialty Registrar Level in Plastic Surgery, with a special interest in Microvascular Breast Reconstructive Surgery.

The successful candidate will be in ST7/8 of Plastic Surgery training (or equivalent) and will have a special interest in microsurgery and breast reconstruction. The successful candidate will join a team of three plastic surgeons with a major interest in Breast Reconstruction.

The successful candidate will participate in microvascular breast reconstruction and secondary breast surgeries. They will attend specialist clinics in Breast Reconstruction and a regular Oncoplastic MDT during their tenure.

They will also be expected to be involved in junior doctor teaching and to undertake clinical audit projects including presentation at Clinical Governance.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will participate in microvascular breast reconstruction and secondary breast surgeries. They will attend specialist clinics in Breast Reconstruction and a regular Oncoplastic MDT during their tenure.

They will also be expected to be involved in regional junior doctor teaching and to undertake clinical audit projects including presentation at Clinical Governance

The proposed role is full time, 40 hours per week without an on-call requirement.

The exact schedule will be confirmed; flexibility by the postholder is required to meet the service demands.

About us

The Plastics' Breast Reconstructive department is a regional service primarily covering Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath and Bristol to provide specialist Breast Cancer and Reconstructive surgical expertise. The post-holder will join Mr Sherif Wilson, Miss Philippa Jackson and Miss Naomi Patel in delivering this service.
