Psychodynamic Psychotherapist Developmental Post

Job summary

We are delighted to offer a 0.8 WTE developmental post for a psychotherapist who is currently undertaking the NSCAP D58/D59 Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training.

Applicants must be accreditable with a recognised professional body (e.g. UKCP or other). We are happy to discuss progression via a Preceptorship from Band 7 to Band 8a, subject to successful completion of a skills portfolio, including supervision training and D59 completion (or completion of ISTDP, TFP, or CAT training). Some support towards course fees could be discussed.

Main duties of the job

The Role

You will work with patients experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties, while also supporting staff working with this client group. The post holder will:

  • Provide specialist psychodynamic assessments
  • Deliver group and individual psychodynamic psychotherapy
  • Offer supervision and support to other psychological therapists
  • Provide consultation to colleagues within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), inpatient units and other Trust services.
