Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join our 0-19 (25) Integrated specialist Public Health Nursing (ISPHN) team as a public health nurse. The role involves supporting the service through our single point of contact, being the first point of contact for our service users and other professionals.

The public health nurse will also work alongside registered school nurses and health visitors to provide face to face care in line with the recently revised Healthy Child Programme. It is envisioned this will be be a 60/40 spilt with 60% working within SPOC and 40% working within the locality teams. Providing an unique experience within the public health nursing arena.

The role will be based at Anlaby clinic, however the successful applicant will be expected to support schools and colleagues across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the effective delivery of care packages to an identified caseload of children and young people, their families and carers, as delegated by the Integrated Specialist Public Health Nurse ( 5-19)
  • There will be a requirement to provide a service between 8.00 am - 8.00 pm over a 5-day Monday - Friday period, to meet the needs of Children and Young People and service delivery.
  • Maintain, as part of continual professional development, up to date clinical knowledge/skills in public health nursing, using information to effect change in practice and ensuring the effective dissemination of new knowledge.
  • Develop and implement personal knowledge to enable the effective delivery of quality care to children and young people, and their families/carers

Demonstrate a range of clinical interventions, procedures and practices which are evidence based and relevant to the clinical area
