We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateRegistered Adult Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team within the Forensic Division. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with individuals who have complex mental health, personality disorder and learning disability needs within a secure environment. As an Adult Nurse in our forensic service, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients who may have a history of offending behaviour alongside significant mental health conditions.
Patients within forensic services often experience significant physical health inequalities. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring patients receive high-quality physical healthcare alongside their mental health treatment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help assess, monitor, and manage a wide range of physical health conditions while promoting healthier lifestyles and preventative care.
Main duties of the job
o Drawing on their knowledge and skills of physical health nursing the RGN will be involved in the design of therapeutic interventions whilst co-ordinating an individualised and person-centred programme of support for each patiento The RGN will facilitate the implementation and coordination of physical health care delivery as part of a whole health approach to patient care.This will entail working with the MDT, health improvement team, ward-based nursing allied health professionals, and ultimately the patient themselves.
o This will support patient inclusivity, patient access to a quality service whilst also delivering a cohesive and holistic approach.o The RGN will practice and support the primary service delivery including long term condition clinics, GP clinic, first contact illness and injury assessment as well as health promotion interventions.o The RGN will a play a vital role in upskilling ward-based staff and sharing knowledge and experience around physical health and health promotion. They will also provide a ward shop floor presence supporting the patient and enabling ward-based staff to support the patient on their physical health and overarching wellbeing journey
