Main duties of the job

Main Duties of the Role

  • Deliver hands-on, person-centred care, supporting qualified staff by assisting patients with their daily personal care needs in a compassionate and respectful way.

  • Play an active role in monitoring patient wellbeing, sharing observations and changes in condition with qualified staff to help ensure safe, responsive care.

  • Support the wider multidisciplinary team by carrying out delegated tasks that contribute to each patient's individualised care plan. This may include helping with personal care, mealtimes, mobility and general day-to-day support that enhances comfort and independence.

  • Be a valued member of a 24/7 service, working as part of a supportive team that keeps the ward running smoothly around the clock. This includes participating in a fair rotation of shifts across days, nights and weekends.
