Job summary
We are excited to be advertising to recruit a Modern Matron to work across our Hull and East Riding 0-19 IPHNS.
The ideal candidate will be committed to personal and staff professional development, be able to develop strong and collaborative working relationships with external agencies. This is a key role to clinically and professionally lead the service, and continuously improve pathways for babies, children, young people and their families to ensure high quality, safe and sustainable care.
The role supports the Divisional Clinical Lead, ensuring robust clinical governance, promoting professional nursing standards, and supporting the service to ensure nursing staff have the opportunity for clinical and professional development.
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced nurse with demonstrable leadership experience and experience in Public Health services. They should also have a commitment and desire to contribute to service improvement.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a leadership role in the governance of the Hull and East Riding 0-19 IPHN services together with the Service Managers for each area. Responsibilities include:
Maintaining compliance with, and developing, clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines.Accountability for the high-quality nursing services to clients in the Hull & ER 0-19 IPHNSWorking in partnership with operational managers, professional leads and other colleaguesContinuing to demonstrate advanced clinical skills in practice and provide support and advice re. clinical developments, delivery and co-ordination of the highest quality care in collaboration with service users, carers, staff, managers, other agencies, appropriate to the service areaProviding assurance via audits and strong governance processes

Essential
- Current NMC registration SCPHN registration and be on the live register
- Educated to Masters Level or Masters level or equivalent Post Graduate modules plus significant advanced knowledge/ experience
- Full understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. Mental Health Act code of practice, RCP standards for forensic mental health service, NHS Englend culture of care standards for inpatient services, National service framework: mental health, etc.
- Evidence of leadership and organisational development issues that have had a positive impact on service delivery
Desirable
- Advanced/expert clinical qualification
- Member of organisational group/network, locally/regionally/nationally
