Job summary
Would you like to work as an Early Years Practitioner within the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team providing high quality care to women, their families and infants in Hull an East Riding. We know that providing person centred care and intervention can impact significantly on quality of life for women as well as that of their children and families and the main function of the role is to support
mothers with perinatal mental health problems to care for their babies, ensure that the emotional and physical needs of the babies are met and to engage in activities to promote the mother-infant relationship. The core purpose of the team in which the post-holder will work, is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in perinatal and maternal mental health and attachment based approaches to mothers and infants.
Main duties of the job
- To assist mothers with perinatal mental health problems to care for their babies, ensure that the emotional and physical needs of the babies are met and engage in activities to promote the mother-infant relationship The core purpose of the team in which the post-holder will work, is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in perinatal and maternal mental health and attachment based approaches to mothers and infants.
- The role would include direct interventions with women and their families with perinatal mental health problems, this may be one to one or in group setting. Visiting mothers in their own homes or at other premises such as children's centres across Hull and East Riding. To support teaching and training delivered by the perinatal service.
- The post holder will assist the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of children and their families by undertaking delegated duties that support and enable family centred care. To work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that there is appropriate communication with other professionals involved in the care of the child and mother.
