Job summary

We are looking for a Band 7 enthusiastic and motivated Registered Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurses to join our team in the Assessment and Treatment in-patient unit at Townend Court. The successful applicants will have the potential to lead a team of nurses and healthcare assistants to provide a high standard of evidence based care.

Learning Disability services have been changing and continue to evolve to meet the clinical demands of a modern inpatient facility and we are looking for the right candidates to join this team. If you are excited by service change and improvement this could be the opportunity you are looking for.

Our service is enrolled in the National NHSE Culture or Care Programme which challenges us to support cultural change and a new bold, re imagined model of care for the future across all NHS-funded mental health, learning disability and autism inpatient settings. The new clinical leads will be integral in leading this team, and have the exciting opportunity to shape our services through co-production with our service users and staff teams.

Main duties of the job

As an enthusiastic and motivated clinical lead you will provide clinical guidance and expertise to the nurses and health care assistants. You will work closely alongside the ward manager and wider MDT to ensure that evidence based, high quality care is delivered at all times and staff have the appropriate skills and support to be able to achieve this.

You will be an excellent role model to the staff that you supervise and to the wider MDT, and will nurture junior members of staff in the development of strong nursing team.

You will receive support from the modern matron, service manager and the wider senior leadership team, and will work to clinically lead and develop the service at a ward level providing assurance to senior leadership around quality improvement and patient safety.

Working hours will include shifts which are long days and nights.

  • RNLD or RNMH with live NMC registration.
