Job summary

The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join the multi-disciplinary team that makes up the CAMHS Community team based in Beverley. This team works closely with other services in the division that support young people in relation to their mental health and emotional wellbeing. This includes both inpatient and other community teams.

The Hull and ERY CAMHS Service is aimed at children and young people aged 0 - 18 years with mental health needs who are registered with a Hull or ERY GP, and/or attending a Hull or ERY school/educational setting.

Main duties of the job

Core duties of the teams include:

  • Assessment of mental health needs
  • Evidenced-based mental health interventions
  • Consultations to other agencies
  • Contribute to assessment of first episode psychosis
  • Joint working with other CAMHS services including LAC CAMHS, forensic CAMHS, harmful sexual behaviour, and eating disorders
  • Liaising with acute CAMHS to facilitate step-up and step-down care in response to changing or escalating needs

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • MRCPsych
  • Additional clinical qualifications.

Eligibility

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment (the Trust will appoint a section12(2) to provide this role in the sector during the transition).
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.

Desirable

  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

  • Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative.
