We are seeking to recruit one full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Employment Advisors to work within the NHS East Riding Talking Therapies - part of the national EA in Talking Therapies programme.

The Employment Adviser's role is to deliver the core employment support provision in Talking Therapies, working with individuals who are in employment, or who are out of work. Clients are given individually tailored support to find new employment, to return to employment after a sickness absence, or to resolve difficulties at work.

Please note that the role is a Fixed Term Contract ending March 2026.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support people accessing NHS East Riding Talking Therapies by using employment interventions to assist clients to find, retain or return to work by offering advice, information and guidance as fulfilled through the Employment Advisor in Talking Therapies programme.

Working as part of a team, you will work closely with service users, clinicians and therapists including local employability partners, services, and agencies.

You will have experience of working within employment support and be able to manage a high volume caseload of clients as well as possessing a high level of IT literacy across a number of different software packages.

You will have good organisational skills, be able to prioritise tasks and possess good time management skills.

You must be familiar with supporting people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly in accessing employment and understand the principles of the Equality Act and how it relates to Employment Rights.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.

Essential

  • Relevant knowledge acquired through training and experience to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent plus knowledge and experience to diploma level or equivalent.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role
