Job summary
This is an interesting and varied role. The successful applicant would contribute to the Information Governance programme based on the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, undertaking and co-ordinating activities such as risk assessment, audits, and the information asset register to enable compliance with legislation. You will provide information, advice, and guidance on a range of information governance issues.
You would contribute to the review and investigation of information governance incidents as directed and assist in the delivery of Information Governance training and awareness sessions throughout the Trust.
You would be working as part of an established team and will be encouraged and supported to enhance your existing skills and knowledge and develop new ones.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills, be an effective communicator and work well as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
To direct, support and assist staff, patients, public by telephone, email and in writing using a variety of communication skills, taking direct ownership and responsibility of resolving enquiries at the first point of contact where possible.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting colleagues to complete Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Information Sharing Agreements (ISA) in relation to Data Sharing Projects
To provide regular IG updates, including work programme progress and improvement plans reports for the Information Governance Group. To also act as a minute taker, schedule meetings and regularly update the work plan for the Information Governance Group.
To support senior staff with updating of the IG policies and procedures. To assist in the collation of the Trust's responses to Freedom of Information Requests.
To support the completion of the data flow mapping programme (Information Asset Register) to ensure that all data flows are provided and reviewed on an annual basis.
To carry out Data Protection audits and report findings to Managers highlighting where improvements can be made.
