Job summary

Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join the Older Peoples Mental Health Psychology Service provision across the Humber region. This will be a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Older Peoples' Mental Health services have been going through a significant period of transformation and change. This includes an innovative approach to Older People who are living with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. This assistant role will involve working with older people with emotional needs within the functional mental health inpatient setting of the ward, Maister Court.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic with good verbal and written communication skills, good organisational skills, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The main assistant psychology role within this service will involve:

  • The collection of assessment data (including information from the service-user and family)
  • Review of psychiatric files
  • Contribution to formulation
  • Contribution to behavioural management plans
  • Delivery of interventions within the ward (with the opportunity to contribute to and explore some community settings within the wider service as part of annual leave or sickness cover if it arises). These interventions include coping with emotion, pain, sleep, solution focus approach and anxiety management.
