If so, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in our recently transformed UCR / Intermediate Care Service offered in the idyllic Scarborough and Ryedale Countryside, North Yorkshire!

We are accepting applications from either an existing Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist, or an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist who can demonstrate meeting the vacancy criteria with a development induction/training package, based on applicants' individual needs. The post holder will work within an existing UCR / Intermediate Care Multidisciplinary Team with close links to the Core Community Occupational Therapy team, alongside Physiotherapy, District Nursing, and the wider specialist services.

Main duties of the job

Advanced Occupational Therapist

We aim to provide a responsive quality service to enable people to safely live in the community, focusing on Prevention/Ageing Well/Health Promotion and Rehabilitation. Supported by a Band 7 Clinical Lead, the successful candidates' roles and responsibilities will include completing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and developing comprehensive treatment plans, as well as offering supervising and training to support the development and delegation to junior staff, Service development and audit.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and further professional knowledge at masters equivalent level
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Advanced knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice
  • To have completed SLiP training and had experience supervising OT students

Desirable

  • Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
  • Full understanding of relevant policy, drivers and their application to clinical and service area

  • Understanding of complex caseload management and clinical responsibilities within service area
