Job summary
We have an exciting rotational opportunity within the Community in Scarborough & Ryedale to start, or progress your Occupational Therapy career.
In this role you will get to experience both the Planned Therapy Service and the Urgent Community Response Team via a rotation.
Some of the highlights of this opportunity are that you get to work with patients in their own homes to maximise & maintain their independence, prevent admission to hospital and provide rehabilitation following inpatient stays. Because our wider service is a multi-speciality model, we have our own specialist therapist and nurses who are a brilliant source of information, advice and training. Specialism include Respiratory Physio, Nursing & Pulmonary Rehabilitation; MSK Physio; Stroke Specialist OT/Physios; SLT; Continence Nurses; Dietitians; Heart Failure Nurses; Cardiac Rehab Physio & Nurses; Diabetes Specialist Nurses.
The Planned Therapy rotation is based in Scarborough & Filey working Monday - Friday, and the Urgent Community Response Team work across Scarborough & Ryedale 7 days a week 8am-8pm on a rota basis.
Main duties of the job
The main duties for the role will include -
- Be responsible own autonomous practice and ensure effective patient care is maintained.
- Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments of patients with physical conditions, providing holistic assessment, development, and delivery of individualised treatment programmes.
- Provide rehabilitation programmes within the integrated team, supporting the teams to deliver patient pathways which support patients with a variety of conditions, in a range of community venues and the patient's own home environment.
- To adhere to professional and standard operational processes relating to the provision and development team.
- Participate in regular supervision
- Maintain up to date, evidence base knowledge via regular, documented CPD activities
- Supervise and delegate to junior staff including student OTs
