Job summary

We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a permanent band 6 progressing to a band 7 recruit to train development post for a trainee CBT therapist based in the Planned Care Mental Health Division.

Training is offered as part of the post starting in March 2024 and is a two year PGDip for CBTp delivered face to face at Hull University. Following training and meeting all of the requirements of the post, a Band 7 CBT Therapist position will be available within the Mental Health Division. We are looking for a motivated person to train and qualify as a CBTp (CBT in psychosis and bipolar) therapist with some experience of delivering CBT based interventions or knowledge of the model.

We welcome people interested in psychological therapies to approach us for a discussion prior to applying/ interview as the undertaking of a long term course does impact on your work/life balance due to the academic rigour and demand of the course and we want to ensure that we can support you to be successful in this training.

Successful appointment is dependent on successful application to the Trust as well as acceptance onto the CBT course. Upon successful appointment you will be supported to apply for the course.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver CBTp to the group of service users accessing PSYPHER and additional adult services, with an emphasis on you gaining training cases to complete your course .
  • To complete the CBTp course, including all the requirements to be successful such as attending the training, engaging in supervision, delivering CBTp and completing the necessary coursework on time to the standard required.
  • To apply for accreditation to the BABCP on completion of the course.
  • To achieve BABCP accreditation.
  • To provide clinical supervision to CBT PGDip trainees once accredited or working towards accreditation
  • Provide CBT based advice to other staff regarding clinical issues, including supervision and consultation dependent on experience.
  • When sufficient experience has been accrued to offer clinical supervision on CBT to junior doctors.

The course starts on the 26th March 2024 and we will need you to be in post before or on that date. Interviews will be via MS Teams just before or after Christmas dependent on number of applications .
