Job summary

Apprentice health care Assistant, (band 2) on Community inpatient ward within Malton Hospital.

Assisting qualified staff by undertaking personal care duties for patients and reporting the patients condition to qualified staff.

demonstrate car and compassion to patients, carers and relatives to help ensure high-quality person centred patient care is delivered at all times, such as feeding, bathing and repositioning of the patient under the supervision of a trained nurse.

Main duties of the job

Implementing programs of nursing care during spans of duty,

washing and dressing patients, toileting and feeding patients.

Taking blood pressures,pulses, temperatures, checking blood glucose levels,

Completing patient food charts, cleaning and making beds, manually moving equipment, e.g. hoists,trolleys and wheelchairs.

Responsible for accurate record keeping in patient records, patient care plans, recording observations
