Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly enthusiastic social worker in the form of a Band 6 Social Work post within the Hull Integrated Care Team for Older People. The team currently comprises of social care and mental health nurses and non-professionally registered community staff. We work using a multi-disciplinary approach alongside consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists who all contribute to a safe, sound, supportive and genuinely integrated team service provision.
This vacant Band 6 post is a wonderful opportunity to show dynamic thinking alongside other like-minded professionals. Our team offers support to people over the age of 65 who have a diagnosis of mental illness.

Main duties of the job
As a member of the social care element of the team you will have the skills to engage with service users possessing complex needs and be able to work in a person-centred way compiling assessments which are individualised as well as being strengths/outcome based and underpinned by social work ethics and values.
For this vacant Band 6 Social Work post, it is essential that applicants have an understanding of or experience within mental health. They will also be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge in relation to social care practice and the applicable legislation. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are a must, as well as enthusiasm and dynamic thinking coupled with emotional resilience. Experience of supervising staff and the motivation to undertake further professional training such as the Approved Mental Health Professional qualification are also desirable attributes.
