Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT), an experienced Band 5 OT or an OT returning to practice to join our Mental Health OT inpatient Hub.
The post is to provide OT provision across a 18bedded male inpatient environment alongside other health professionals.
You will be required to provide holistic and evidence-based OT assessments and interventions in order to support service-users to develop the skills required to return safely and independently back into the community.
All Humber OTs are part of the Professional Network groups and are an integral to the ongoing development of the OT provision across the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and will have access to the Mental Health Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Group, as training and professional development is encouraged by Trust, and the wider OT service is also very committed to support undergraduate/postgraduate/ apprentice student education.

Main duties of the job
You will use your Occupational Therapy skills and develop collaborative working relationships with staff and service users.
You will clinically oversea the OT provision ensuring delivery of evidence based Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions that facilitate recovery and optimising functioning in all areas of daily living, vocation and leisure, within the most enabling environment.
You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and delegation to the OT support staff to ensure they have the opportunity to grow and develop.
Majority of the Service user interventions take place in the inpatient setting; however, you will also be required to complete community interventions to support and develop independence and community living skills of our service users, as well as developing networks with our community agencies in order to support social inclusion.
You will be an integral part of the Inpatient OT Hub ensuring that Occupational Therapy at the heart of what you do. There will be opportunities to work on service improvement to support the continued development of the OT and wider service.
You will receive regular clinical/ professional supervision from the Advanced Occupational Therapist (Band 7) and have access to a monthly Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and wider OT Network meetings.
The Occupational Therapy Service is committed to undergraduate student education via SLIP training.

- Registration with the HCPC
- A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical practice and service
- Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice
Desirable
- Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
- Registration within the specialist RCOT sections
- Willingness to consider undertaking the training required to be a Practice Placements for students
