Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 6 RNLD/ RMH to join the Learning Disability - Intensive Support Team.
The Intensive Support Team embraces the national context of 'Transforming Care' and the vision set out in "Building the right support" and the "National service model for commissioners of health and care services". Successful candidates will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, offering clinical support to individuals with complex health needs and their families by implementing person-centered care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team including Nursing, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Psychology . Our valued team members support some of the most vulnerable people in society, demonstrating care and compassion and treating people as individuals.
Clinical work will focus on providing intensive, evidence based care to adults with a learning disability who are experiencing high levels of emotional distress resulting in significant behaviours which challenge. The team is underpinned by Positive Behavioural Support, STOMP and the transforming care agenda.
Due to the geographical area that this post covers you will need to be a car owner/driver and hold a current driving license, unless you have a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995
Main duties of the job
As a band 6 nurse you will:
Support the Lead Nurse in providing clinical and professional leadership to nurses within own area of responsibility.
Support the Lead Nurse and other colleagues with the implementation of policy, protocol, service/practice development and change within own area of responsibility
As a band 6 nurse within the Learning Disability service you may also on occasion be asked to provide support and cover to other parts of the learning disability service during periods of increased clinical pressures.
