Pre-Registration Nurse Lead

The closing date is 09 March 2026

Job summary

We have an excellent opportunity to join the Multi Professional Education team as the lead for Pre-registration Nurse Education. We currently partner with eight Higher Education Institutions for pre-registration education.

The Pre-registration Nursing Lead holds overarching responsibility for the strategic and operational advancement of educational excellence across the Trust's pre-registration nursing programmes. This role is pivotal in formulating and implementing progressive strategies aimed at enhancing the student experience and positioning the Trust as the employer of choice within the region. Core functions include the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the student journey through systematic feedback mechanisms, robust stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive reporting to Trust committees. The post holder provides authoritative advice to the Corporate Nursing team concerning professional, statutory, and regulatory body requirements, as well as the management of affiliations with both local and regional Higher Education Institutions. Further, the role encompasses oversight of student placement capacity to accommodate increasing enrolment, leadership in the implementation and continual assessment of the NHS England Safer Learning Environment Charter, and strategic guidance to Clinical Practice Facilitators.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will oversee the programme of improvement for Quality and Professional Standards related to pre-registration education, ensuring that the delivery of high-quality education and care consistently aligns with NMC and CQC fundamental standards, safeguarding principles, Trust Values, and both Trust and Divisional Strategic Objectives.

This role will hold accountability for the quality of pre-registration education across the Trust, operating within agreed objectives, quality benchmarks, and allocated resources, in accordance with local and national plans.

The Lead for Pre-registration Education will also be responsible for providing guidance related to curriculum development related to pre-registration learning, ensuring that the perspective is represented at various forums and that the nursing education strategy is actively embedded in practice.
