As a senior safeguarding professional within the integrated safeguarding team, the post holder will lead on the development, delivery and assurance of high-quality, statutory-compliant safeguarding arrangements for CYP. • Act as a trusted source of expert advice for healthcare professionals on sensitive, emotive, and complex safeguarding matters.
  • Lead and influence the Trust's safeguarding children strategy, policies, and internal governance arrangements in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and CQC requirements.
  • Deputise for the Head of Safeguarding as required and contribute to service development, workforce planning, and recruitment.
  • Develop, review, and implement safeguarding policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, ensuring learning from national and local reviews is embedded into practice.
  • Fulfil the statutory role of Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in accordance with the Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework and the NMC Code.
  • Lead the Trust's response to Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs), Serious Incidents, and other statutory enquiries, ensuring learning is disseminated and implemented.
  • Oversee safeguarding audit, performance monitoring, and data analysis, providing assurance and reports through Trust governance structures and to senior leadership.
