Job summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a creative and proactive communications professional to join our organisation at a time of change and opportunity.

As a key member of our small but highly performing communications team, the post-holder will play an active role in planning and delivering our internal communications activity.

This is a pivotal role in the team, and you will be expected to be highly organised and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, external partners and stakeholders.

You will also play a role in supporting the Trust's media relations service and our digital communications, including creating engaging website and intranet content. You will also be responsible for working closely with the patient experience team to provide support in producing high quality patient information that meets necessary standards.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead on the content planning, development and delivery of the Trust's internal communications channels
  • Coordinate timely, accurate delivery of essential safety and operational messaging through internal channels, such as changes to core policies or guidance, or safety alerts
  • Provide a targeted communications approach for key internal audience segments, with a particular focus on resident doctors and other groups that may have highly specific communications needs
  • Develop strong working relationships with staff members across the organisation, becoming a trusted source of support and advice, and encouraging colleagues to come forward with stories and news
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide a coordinated and holistic communications service, including supporting media and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute in editorial planning and general professional communications activities for the service, including managing events planning for key corporate events as required
  • Working closely with the patient experience team to provide expert communications advice in relation to patient information as required, particularly in respect of the Accessible Information Standard and video information
