Job summary
To work with a team of radiologists, radiographers, and ancillary staff to provide a safe and efficient radiology service.
To maintain a high radiographic standard along with a first-rate standard of patient care.
To participate in the departmental stand-by and 2nd on-call rotas (after appropriate training).
To provide a diagnostic imaging service in areas where trained both in and out of normal working hours.
Main duties of the job
o To maintain a high standard of radiography & seek advice from more seniorstaff when required.o Report any faults/incidents to the Lead Radiographer(s)/senior in charge.o To maintain a high standard of patient care.o Maintain a high standard of equipment care.o To work on a rota system. This rota includes mobile and theatre work andafter Suitable experience there may be the opportunity for training through thespecialized rooms.o The Trust provides a 24 hour cover and all newly appointment staff will beexpected to participate in a standby and weekend rota.o Perform CT scanning and participate in the CT on call system after anappropriate training period.o Placing 'red dot' on casualty films with identified trauma/pathologyo Administration of cannulas and I.V. contrast media after recognized training.o To act as the first point of contact for all queries pertaining to Radiology out ofhours and to liaise with the 2nd on-call Radiographer when necessary.
