Job summary
Join our friendly, multidisciplinary Imaging team at Ealing Hospital and help deliver vital diagnostic radiography services across general X-ray, mobiles, theatres and CT. Working under the Clinical Lead Radiographer (and accountable to the Head of Imaging & Medical Physics), you'll uphold professional standards, drive exceptional patient care, and contribute to a 24/7 on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties

Clinical Imaging & Support
-
Perform high-quality general radiography (including mobile/theatre work) and, once trained, CT examinations.

Apply "red-dot" flagging to highlight urgent findings on emergency films.

Cannulate and administer IV contrast media after competency accreditation.

On-Call & Rota Participation
-
Participate in weekday standby, weekend and CT on-call rosters.

Act as first point of contact for out-of-hours imaging queries, liaising with the second on-call radiographer.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
-
Adhere to IRR18 and IRMER 2017 regulations, NHS Trust policies, and clinical governance standards.

Report equipment faults, incidents or near-misses promptly.

Contribute to departmental quality-assurance programmes and radiation-safety audits.

Resource Management & Teamwork

Monitor and replenish consumables; escalate low-stock issues.

Assist with induction, training and mentoring of junior staff and students.

Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs in line with Trust policy.
