Diabetes and Endocrinology Support Worker

A rare opportunity has arisen within the Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialist Nursing Service at London Northwest University Healthcare Trust. Our friendly team is looking for a new member to join the them, this is a newly developed role as a Diabetes and Endocrinology Support Worker based predominantly at Northwick Park Hospital. We welcome applications from Registered Nurse Associates (RNA) who are looking for a challenging and yet rewarding role. Main duties of the job

Support the delivery of the Diabetes & Endocrinology service to patients both in the

inpatient and outpatient setting.

o Work under the supervision of the Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialist Nurses and will be responsible for an agreed specific caseload of Dynamic Endocrine Testing including administration aspects.

o Work under the supervision of the Diabetes Pump Specialist Nurses and will be responsible for an agreed specific caseload of patients initiating diabetes technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring, including administration aspects and funding pathways.

o Liaise with MDT and the Diabetes and Endocrine medical team to improve uptake to the Diabetes Virtual Ward at ward level and support technical aspects of onboarding.

o Support in the delivery of training and education in Diabetes & Endocrinology, raising awareness of safe practice amongst ward staff.

o Provide administrative support for the DAFNE & Insulin Pump Service cross site.
