Therapy Assistant - Neurorehabilitation

Job summary

The Regional Hyper-acute Rehabilitation Unit (RHRU) is a 24 bed in-patient specialist neuro-rehabilitation service. It is part of a specialist rehabilitation network and acts as a central focus for research and training of all professions in rehabilitation. The unit offers intensive multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation to adults with severe and complex cognitive, communicative, physical and psychosocial difficulties. This may be due to traumatic brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions.

The RHRU has a friendly and dynamic team and we are committed to delivering high standards of care and therapy to our patients.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Therapy Assistant to help with the smooth running of the multi-disciplinary service. The post is an combination of both administrative skills and clinical work with patients. All training will be provided.

You will be required to provide a comprehensive clerical service to ensure effective administration and communications systems are in place to support the highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. Your work would include organising and running national courses in conjunction with the clinical team. Working within the team, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to use your initiative and, have excellent organisational skills being able to prioritise a diverse workload under pressure.
