Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to improving our ward based clinical pharmacy services. In this key post you will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary team and be responsible for providing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to our Respiratory wards.
The post holder will work closely with the Pharmacy Team Lead for Medicine to monitor and control medicine use within the Respiratory service. They will support the strategic development of the pharmacy clinical and ward based services and lead on reducing risks associated with medicines within the Respiratory service.
Main duties of the job
As an enthusiastic and patient oriented pharmacist, you will combine expert opinion and expert practice at the bedside to benefit patient care, and work at the forefront within the multidisciplinary team to help us implement, deliver and continually improve medicines management.
Overall, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development and delivery of clinical pharmacy services within Respiratory.
- Providing a safe, efficient and cost-effective pharmacy service to the Respiratory wards.
- Contributing to the management of junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working within the Respiratory service.
- Supporting and helping to deliver key performance targets within the Respiratory service, in particular those related to prescribing, optimising medicines and the turnaround times of discharge medicines.
This position is a job share and offers the opportunity to build on your management experience and specialism in Respiratory medicine. You will need excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and will need to enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will need post-registration experience relevant to hospital pharmacy and will have the Post Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
