DEXA & X-RAY Senior Radiographer

Job summary

The post holder will serve as a specialist diagnostic practitioner at Ealing Community Diagnostic Centre, overseeing the X-ray and DEXA services. You will also be required to work closely with the dexa team at Northwick Park, to provide a consistent service across the trust. This includes managing staff, resources, and daily activities to ensure a safe, effective, and high-quality service aligned with the Trust's HEART Values.

Based at the Ealing Community Diagnostic Centre, the role involves handling a diverse caseload of patients referred from:

o GP practices

o Outpatient clinics

Patients may present with a variety of complex conditions, and the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate radiographic procedures are performed to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

As a visible clinical and professional leader, the post holder will provide guidance and support to radiographers, radiology assistants, admin and clerical team, and students within the imaging service. They will ensure that imaging procedures meet quality standards, optimising available resources to deliver efficient and effective patient care.

Operationally, the post holder will manage the service to guarantee that all radiographic staff possess the necessary competencies for their roles, ensuring adherence to safe and up-to-date practices across X-ray and DEXA scanning.

Main duties of the job

  • Senior radiographer with interest in plain film and dexa imaging to provide clinical expertise in these modalities.

  • Experience in conductingclinical audits, quality assurance (QA) processes, and service improvement initiatives.

  • Ability totrain, mentor, and supportradiographers, students, and other staff members in developing clinical competencies.

  • Work with radiographers and assistant practitioners to provide high quality clinical service.
