Job summary

The Post holder will be expected to:1. In collaboration with the Team Leader/Nurse in Charge, to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for patients with infectious diseases.2. Support the Ward Manager in providing a unified approach to high standards of nursing care.3. Contribute to a learning environment that promotes excellent nursing practice.4. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others in the unit in ensuring good inter-inter-disciplinary teamwork and problem solving to meet the needs of patients with infectious diseases, and their families.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the care of the patients on the ward.
  • To be responsible for the care of a group of patients during the shift.
  • To be one of a team of named nurses, caring for a particular group of patients.
  • Assists in meeting the requirements of the Clinical Governance programme pertaining to the ward.
