An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join the breast cancer nursing team.
As a Breast Cancer CNS, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients with breast cancer receive the highest standard of care and support from diagnosis , throughout the cancer pathway and to live with and beyond cancer.
Main duties of the job
To perform an effective key role within the MDT to deliver cancer waiting times targets and pathways communication.
To act as a specialist resource for patients and the clinical team by providing comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training both within LNWH and externally.
Update own clinical and specialist knowledge. Contribute to audit processes. Undertake, where appropriate, nursing research with published outcomes.
Promote excellence in clinical practice, and the setting of quality standards within specialty.
Active involvement in the development of the service locally and nationally.
Delivering excellent clinical care for breast cancer patients.

Essential
- oRegistered nurse at degree level.
- oCurrently registered with NMC
- oPost registration qualification appropriate to cancer speciality
- oEvidence of relevant continued professional development relevant to the clinical area
Desirable
- oRecognised teaching qualification or working towards
- oWorking towards master's level qualification
- oAdvanced communication skills qualification
- Level 2 psychology skills certificate
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- oRelevant post registration experience at band 6 or above in oncology or tumour site related clinical area
- oPrevious experience in a post involving clinical and managerial responsibilities.

- oDemonstrate evidence of highly developed clinical practice
