Job summary
You will be required to provide evidence based dietetic advice to children and young people with diabetes. A knowledge of carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring is required. The role would have a great mix of one-to-one clinics and diabetes group education, including DAFNE and carbohydrate counting sessions delivered virtually and face to face.
As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the paediatric dieticians team. You will support the paediatric diabetes team and dieticians team lead in monitoring, developing and evolving the dietetic service across the Trust and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team.
We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, team working and leadership skills with a passion for Diabetes. They should be focused on providing a high quality dietetic service which is evidence based and responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group.
The LNWH dietetic team is a large, dynamic and friendly department of dietitians, dietetic assistants and administrators based across at Northwick Park, St Marks, Ealing Hospitals and CMH.
The Paediatric Diabetes multidisciplinary team is a small department of specialist nurses, paediatricians and psychologists.
Main duties of the job
As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the paediatric dieticians team. You will support the paediatric diabetes team and dieticians team lead in monitoring, developing and evolving the dietetic service across the Trust and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the other Diabetes Dietitians within the Trust and lead on clinical and service development projects. Together, you will be the experts on nutrition in this field, and will seek opportunities within the MDT to lead on service improvement, audit and research, raising the profile of Dietetics within the team and organisation.
