An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Diabetes Dietitian to join our team of Dietitians at Northwick Park Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital. The post requires an enthusiastic Dietitian with experience of working in Diabetes, to deliver a dietetic service as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Diabetes Centres at Central Middlesex Hospital.
You will be required to provide evidence based dietetic advice to adults including carbohydrate counting education, insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. The role would have a great mix of one-to-one clinics and diabetes group education, including DAFNE and carb counting sessions delivered virtually and face to face.
Main duties of the job
As a band 7, you will be one of the senior members of the Dietetic team. You will support the Team Lead in developing and evolving the dietetic service and you will also be providing support to the junior members of the team.
We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication, organisational, team working and leadership skills. They should be focused on providing a high quality dietetic service which is responsive to the changing needs of the NHS and this patient group.
The post holder will be expected to lead on a number of clinical and service development projects. You will be the expert on nutrition in this field and will continue to work on current service improvement projects including reducing DNA rates, patient initiated follow up and an exciting project on reducing insulin intervention in antenatal/Gestational Diabetes care, whilst continuing to raise the profile of Dietetics within the team and organisation.
The small and friendly Central Middlesex Hospital multidisciplinary team consists of Consultant Endocrinologists, Specialist Diabetes Nurses, Podiatrists as well as Diabetes Specialist Midwives.
The NPH site is a large, dynamic and friendly department of acute dietitians, community dietitians, dietetic assistants and admin based across Trust at Northwick Park, St Marks and Ealing Hospitals.
