Job summary

The role of the Digital Services Access Manager is to design, refine and own the business processes surrounding the access to clinical and non-clinical information systems to eligible Trust Users. The Digital Services Access Manager will ensure the processes for granting access to information systems are robust, efficient, timely and secure. This role incorporates the day to day management and responsibility of the Registration Authority function which issues and supports Smartcards for NHS digital applications. The post holder will line manage a team of Registration Authority Agents and support staff who will be responsible for the registration, maintenance and support of user accounts in the organisation.

The Digital Services Access Manager will review and refine all elements of user-facing and non-user facing processes for the requesting, set-up, issuance, support, and maintenance of user accounts for NHS digital supported systems and ensure associated business processes are:

Robust

Effective and timely

Aligned with any downstream system dependencies

Well documented

This role will involve both operational and project management with the postholder able to manage multiple priorities and projects. The overall aim of this role is to rationalise the number of user facing processes to request access or a change to an Information System account and to automate the creation and maintenance of user accounts, minimising manual administration.

Education/ qualifications

Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and experience

Significant experience of working in a Registration Authority role

Significant experience of working in a highly integrated environment

Evidence of having worked to documented standards

Knowledge of legislation regarding NHS Information Governance

Significant experience of developing and implementing IT solutions within complex settings such as the NHS

Proven systems and process analysis

Significant experience of working with others at all levels and with a range of backgrounds

Significant experience of business process analysis and optimisation

Demonstrated significant experience in a multi-dimensional role, including the capacity to coordinate people and tasks in a dynamic environment.

Skills, abilities and attributes

Proven data analysis skills, in particular high level skills in the use of Excel

Proven Issue/Problem investigation and resolution skills

Must be able to prioritise workload

Must be able to work in a busy pressurised environment

Must be able to work to set procedures maintaining accurate records
